It's a known fact that VHS tape degrades over time. Many tapes recorded and produced in the 1980s and early 1990s are now starting to deteriorate to the point that soon they'll no longer be viewable. We'll convert your old tape based videos to DVD so that you can easily make additional backup copies, and preserve the memories for years to come. Prices start at $45 per hour of video. NTSC Format It is still a common misconception that DVD's are the same the world over and that disks produced in New Zealand can be played anywhere in the world. Unfortunately the reality is that in order to play in Japan or North America (and some South American countries), the material used to create the DVD must be based on the NTSC video format. While many TV's and DVD players in Australasia are dual format and can play both PAL (our TV standard) and NTSC disks, the opposite is not true in North America. It is common in NTSC-based countries for their equipment to single-format only, meaning that material created originally in the PAL format will not be useable. This means if you want to be able to distribute DVD video material in these countries, you will need to create NTSC-compatible disks. Golden Micro has produced a number of DVDs for the North American market, and can therefore help you with your format conversion requirements. Disk Duplication We have a small duplication facility that allows us to create bulk copies of your CD or DVD once we've produced the master. We can easily handle duplication jobs of up to around 2000 copies. Contact us for up to date pricing, and for information about the different packaging options. |
